I've always been interested in album covers. If you take them away from the music they represent, album covers can be quite beautiful. In practice, they can change the way we interpret an album before we even listen. The square aspect ratio creates interesting compositions, but on the whole we often under-appreciate the artistic values of album covers. Graphic arts and mixed media also hold important roles in album cover art.
