Inspired by the work of Aaron Siskind, this project features ultra flat images. Like Siskind's work, they are sometimes abstract; however, this project also includes clearly defined photos that simply match the aesthetic.
So much of photography is centered around depth and creating movement/context with dimension. With these flat photos I take the opposite approach and focus on removing dimension to allow the viewer to focus on the texture and details. While this takes away much of the context of the shot, it provides a different viewing experience for the subjects photographed.
