About Me

Somtimes I feel that an 'about me' section shouldn't be necessary. Ideally, the photos could stand on their own without the need for my backstory. However, I also recognize that an understanding of the person behind the lens can change the story and how the photos are interpreted. There isn't anything special to my backstory though; it is one you could find anywhere. I have my struggles, just like any artist that is too far in their own head, but I believe its all within the normal confine of human nature. It is that neutral aspect that I hope allows you, the viewer, to easily place yourself within the scope of my photos.

When it comes to capturing and editing my photos, I have some self-imposed limitations. While I can appreciate works that make use of heavy post-production or manufactured scenes, I prefer to keep my work grounded to what I see in person. In many cases, I use custom settings baked into the camera to achieve the result I want immediately. That isn't to say I don't ever edit my photos, simply that I try to keep the adjustments simple and reasonable. The natural details and visual elements are what speak to my aesthetic sensibilities.
